Main Engine MAN B&W 6S70MC & VIT High-Pressure Fuel Pump Overhaul on MV PROSPER
A complex marine engineering project executed by ANSAC, featuring the comprehensive overhaul of the high-powered MAN B&W 6S70MC main engine and precise calibration of the Variable Injection Timing (VIT) high-pressure fuel pump system on MV PROSPER.

Technical Breakdown: Main Engine Overhaul on MV PROSPER
During the scheduled port maintenance, ANSAC Ship Repair successfully undertook the critical technical task of overhauling the main propulsion unit of MV PROSPER, focusing on the MAN B&W 6S70MC model and its complex VIT mechanism[cite: 107].
Key Scope of Work Executed:
- Main Engine Cylinder Component Overhaul: Disassembly, cleaning, and calibration of cylinder liners, pistons, piston rings, and cylinder heads.
- VIT (Variable Injection Timing) Overhaul: Complete dismantling and inspection of high-pressure fuel pumps, lapping valve seats, and replacing high-pressure seal kits[cite: 107].
- Crankshaft Deflection & Alignment: Recorded deflections before and after overhaul, alongside Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to guarantee zero surface micro-cracks.
Project Outcome:
Upon completion, the vessel underwent successful sea trials. Combustion pressures, compression values, and exhaust gas temperatures perfectly matched maker specifications, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and carbon compliance for MV PROSPER.
